For this greenfield site, JWD Group provided feasibility and conceptual planning and analysis for a new container terminal. Planning included feasibility studies for the world’s first indented berth, allowing a ship to be worked from both sides. Project included quay crane configuration, a barge berth worked with rail-mounted gantry cranes, stevedoring sequence studies, site planning for multiple operating modes, preliminary capacity analysis, and detailed equipment simulation for quay cranes with the entire terminal operating under peak demand. Facility planning included gate, gatehouse, maintenance and repair building, and marine building.
