Brooklyn Supreme Court

Client/Owner: Brooklyn Supreme Court
Project location: Brooklyn, New York
Construction cost: $6 million
DMJM Harris was hired as the Implementation Contractor for the Brooklyn Supreme Court to provide a major mechanical/electrical upgrade at this 500,000 square foot courthouse building located in downtown Brooklyn. We provided complete turnkey project services including feasibility study, estimating, design and construction management.
The existing chillers of the courthouse were beyond their 20-year life expectancy, with the chiller cooling towers rusted and in need of immediate replacement. DMJM Harris managed the facility’s replacement of high pressure steam boiler with high efficient electric chillers, removed one of the three boilers with a smaller capacity flex tube boiler to handle the summer loads. The switch gear was replaced with new switch gear throughout the building and new electrical risers from the switch gear to all the floor levels were installed.
