West Harlem Waterfront Redevelopment Program

Client: New York City Economic Development Corporation
Project location: New York, New York
Project value: $10 million
DMJM Harris was selected to develop and implement a waterfront redevelopment Master Plan. We were responsible for establishing conceptual design alternatives, design development and contract documents of the waterfront amenity components of the project including a ferry/excursion pier, a recreation fishing pier, a kayak pier and associated gangways. Once completed, the project will transform a city-owned parking lot into an environmentally friendly, inviting and accessible waterfront area that will attract community activity and initiate a cycle of private investment.
In addition to marine planning and design, we were responsible for geotechnical assessment, street and traffic improvements and all relevant mechanical, electrical and plumbing services upgrades. We also provided cost estimating, permitting and environmental assessment, assisting throughout the procurement and into the construction inspection processes on behalf of the City.
