Truman Waterfront and Navy Property

DMJM Harris was responsible for master planning, designing and implementing the Truman Waterfront Development at the Port of Key West, Florida. We were contracted as the prime consultant, to first, build consensus on a Conceptual Master Plan that can be successful within the context of a cruise oriented tourist industry and meet the daily requirements of the local residents; and secondly, prepare a development and implementation plan that can be financially feasible.

The Master Plan proposed a new harbor walk and adjacent gardens that serve as an extension of the existing waterfront promenade and connect the site to the City’s famed Mallory Square and the cruise berths at Mallory Dock. It also identified separate development modules that can be constructed by the City when funding is available and that can be advertised for public/private partnership implementation. We were responsible for guiding the Master Plan through the final implementation phases of this world class waterfront development.
