DMJM Harris has provided design, systems integration, CEI, operations and maintenance services for the Virginia DOT Smart Travel Center project since its inception. Features of the system include a build-out of 288 CCTV cameras, 244 dynamic message signs, ramp metering, 5 automatic gate systems, emergency vehicle access gates, and 552 miles of fiber optic communications. DMJM Harris is providing staff for the TMC operations; field maintenance of ITS equipment and fiber optic communications systems; IT management and support; and operations of the service patrol program.
